Through an agreement with Bowker, the US ISBN Agency, our programs are geared to enable independent self publishers to obtain  individual assignments quickly and easily.  ISBN assignments via the Independent Publisher Program  (a division of Bar Code Graphics, Inc.) are from our inventory of ISBNs acquired under the registrant name of  "Independent Publisher".  While the cost of an ISBN within this program is less expensive than as compared to the Personalized Publisher Program, ISBN attribution within major bibliographic databases such as Books in Print will be assigned to Independent Publisher as the listed publisher within such databases and not your own publishing company. This solution is geared for publishers selling directly to consumers and only your title information will be associated to an ISBN in the Books in Print database. Under the Personalized Publisher program, Publisher Services can act as an agent for clients who desire to obtain personalized ISBN directly through Bowker, the US ISBN Agency. Our clients retain all rights and ownership regardless of the program they choose. There are no additional obligations or fees.
