Independent Publisher Services: Amazon (Kindle) E-book Distribution

Our distribution division now offers a solution enabling small authors to easily provide Kindle versions of their books via Amazon. Although there are hundreds of other e-book sites, Amazon has both the largest selection of books and the largest market share for digital books. In addition, their Kindle application provides a very robust user interface The e-book model eliminates the need for any inventory and enables authors to maximize their net profit for each book sold. For only $150 per title, Independent Publisher Services can establish Kindle distribution through Amazon. Authors who already utilize Independent Publisher Service to distribute their physical book can offer Kindle versions for only $75. (Please note: E-Book conversion is not included in this fee and is a separate charge). The following table illustrates the net profit per book for common suggested retail prices for e-books.

STEP 1: Order Online or speak with a customer representative at (800)-662-0701 x240
Right from the start, one of the features which sets us apart from other companies is the accessibility to our customer service team. A representative is available by phone to assist you throughout the entire process. If you order online, a representative will contact you by phone to walk you through the process.
STEP 2: Determine desired net profit per book
Using our Royalty Calculator, the representative can help you determine the best discount rate and sales price which will enable you to establish the amount of net profit you would like to make for each book. To confirm exact book cost, a representative will normally request a digital file of manuscript. Since most new self publishers are not experienced with the production aspects of book printing, we will make sure that all page settings are correct and the page count is accurate.
STEP 3: A Customized Publishing Contract and Title Information Packet is provided
Our contracts are title specific and will provide a detailed breakdown of all cost and profit calculations. Our authors get to specify exactly which options and formats (paperback, hardcover, ebook) they would like for each title. Contracts are Non-exclusive and authors can cancel at anytime.
Once a signed contract is returned, we ask that our clients
to thoroughly review their manuscript before submitting for
formatting and print-ready conversion.
STEP 4: Digital File Formatting & Conversion > Digital Proof
Once we receive your final digital file (Word Document or PDF), our Graphics Department will review and make any necessary corrections. Once formatting and conversion are finalized, a digital proof (PDF) will be provided for approval. PLEASE REVIEW VERY CAREFULLY. Any changes after digital proof approval will be charged fees specified above.
Upon approval of your digital
proof, we will produce a single printed sample of
your book and you should receive the book within 6 business
days. Since we want to be absolutely sure you
love the quality of our work and how your book
looks, this proofing process is required for all
orders. Once you carefully review your book,
either ACCEPT or REJECT. If you reject it, we make
the necessary corrections and send you a new proof
(an additional fee will be charged).
STEP 5: Title is available on distribution network in 4-6 weeks
Upon final hard copy approval, all metadata and keyword information will be uploaded to Bowker's Books In Print and Ingram's databases. Titles should start showing up on internet sites and be readily available in approximately 4 weeks.
STEP 6: Royalty Distribution
Every quarter we provide a distribution check and royalty statement indicating the number of titles sold. If any payment due is less than $50.00, no payment will be made but the amount due will be added to the next payment that exceeds $50.00.
